The bad news is you will receive at least 41 pounds of junk mail this year! It takes time to process all of this unwanted mail; time that could be spent doing the things you love and spending time with the people you love. The good news is you can just say “NO” to junk mail and stop it at its source!

  1. Go to www.dmachoice.org and register yourself and all adult members of your household with the DMA (Direct Marketing Association) Mail Preference Service. You will need to enter your info and then follow the steps. Once registered at the site, you can request to stop receiving mail from individual companies within each category—or from an entire category at once. I recommend opting out of entire categories.
  2. Also, to stop receiving credit card and insurance offers, go to www.OptOutPreScreen.com, which is the official consumer credit reporting industry opt-out website or you can call them: 1-888-5 OPTOUT
  3. Download the PaperKarma App- PaperKarma lets you take photos from your smart phone of the unwanted mail you want to stop. They automatically contact the mailer and remove you from their distribution list. PaperKarma can stop most unwanted mail that is addressed directly to you.

Within a few months you will see a drastic reduction in the amount of junk mail you receive and will find yourself with more time for what really matters in life!
